dc.description.abstract Thompson (1990) introduced the adaptive cluster sampling design. Thompson and Seber (1996) reviewed the research related to this design and its extensions. There are some problems associated with this design. In this thesis we solve a number of those problems. We also develop new adaptive cluster sampling designs along with their estimators and their variance estimators. en
