Evaluation of a pilot project reduce implicit bias towards Māori Primary School children in New Zealand (Note this was postponed to 2021)

Abstract

This paper considers the significant biases experiences by Māori children in New Zealand's mainstream education system and describes a pilot intervention in an Auckland primary School (including Māori children aged 5-12 years of age and their teachers) which has been successful in mitigating teacher bias towards Māori children.
