Abstract:
Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the bacterium responsible for tuberculosis, which has plagued humans for millennia. TB remains a leading killer of people worldwide today. Over one-third of the world's population now has an M. tuberculosis infection and multidrug resistant TB (MDR TB) is reaching epidemic levels globally.
