Abstract:
For years, many have attempted to dissect the abstract concept of Timelessness and attempted
to establish a wide range of principles and philosophies around Timeless architecture. This
thesis hopes to reveal and exercise the existing notions of Timelessness through a study of the
language of space, perception, critique of aesthetic judgement which are used as justification
toward a timeless architectural quality. The main investigation or drive of this proposal is to
resolve whether methods of achieving Timelessness is applicable to residential architectural
typologies as domestic dwelling and living is inevitably variant and complex. This research will
focus on the possibility of an architectural expression which appeals to a universal psychological
perception; the potential of an innovative gesture in domestic living and architecture by
breaking down the nature of dwelling customs to its common core values; and contribute a
functional permanence in society through shared living and creation of space, that are tailored
into inherent human nature.
