The misuse of antibiotics has driven the emergence of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria, accompanied by a rise in untreatable, life-threatening infections. Currently, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is estimated to cause 700,000 deaths per year. By the year 2050, AMR-related deaths are projected to surpass 10 million per year.1 It is therefore imperative that new antimicrobial agents are discovered, developed, and produced for clinical use.....
