Cambodia has received an extensive amount of support from bilateral assistance and
international donors for justice and governance reforms as well as state-building operations
for many years. However, Cambodia’s performance in the practice of the rule of law remains
challenging. This thesis examines the historical experiences, governmental systems, and
cultural influences to understand the local contexts and makes a comparison between
Cambodia and Singapore regarding the practice of the rule of law based on a thin rule of law
conceptual framework and Most Similar System Design. The thesis also recommends
possibilities of a lesson drawing from a successful practice of rule of law in Singapore to
emulate in the context of Cambodia. |
