Abstract:
T
he importance of information
literacy has been recognised for
some time, both overseas and
in New Zealand. The New Zealand
Curriculum Framework, for example,
states that all students should develop
information skills. In order for this to
happen, however, teachers need to be
information literate and equipped to
teach such skills. This article reports
on findings from a pilot research
project that investigated this subject
with teachers from one Auckland
secondary schooL Ways in which
the original investigation could be
improved are also examined, in
preparation for further investigation
involving teachers from four
Auckland secondary schools.
