dc.description.abstract This thesis provides a systematic literature review of the current state of Object Storage systems based on cloud computing. The goal is to analyse the performance and potential of Object Storage with cloud computing, emphasise how these disruptive technologies modify the previous local distribution approach of computing resources and analyse the features of the object storage system that influence its performance of it. In this paper, the research article from IEEE, ACM and other high-ranked scientific journals published in the last 19 years, and the theoretical underpinning of cloud-computing-related techniques, the information about architecture, cost, working principle and other features from main cloud providers published on their websites will be used for assessment in this review. Based on the systematic review of the literature, we establish the critical subject and present a classification of cloud computing applications. We especially analysed the performance of cloud object storage from diverse attributes, including cost, latency, data management, and metadata study. The comparison of specifications and approaches of services between different cloud vendors can show the capability and potential of cloud computing and object storage more objectively to reduce the risk of bias in assessing the technology to some extent. We also identified the limitation of cloud computing technology and how these limitations have been created.
