Abstract:
HIV-positive, Black African migrants and refugees present as a group of growing interest in Aotearoa New Zealand. This is a low-incidence country in respect to HIV with a cumulative total of 3,474 people ever having been diagnosed with HIV at the end of 2010. A range of factors, outlined in this report, has resulted in an increase in the numbers of HIV-positive Africans seeking medical and social services, and there is growing public awareness of their presence. ...
