Abstract:
School-based practitioner research by teachers in partnership with university researchers can produce improved outcomes for students as well as valuable knowledge about how schools achieve these outcomes. However, significant ethical issues can and do arise during such practitioner research projects. This chapter explores some ethical issues that arose in one such project, describes how these were addressed, and suggests ways of anticipating and managing challenges in practitioner research.
