Abstract:
Spanning five separate sub-fields, this volume, published by Göttingen, covers a wide gamut of Egyptological matters. Pride of place must go to the first chapter, "The Paradise of Scribes and the Tartarus of Soldiers", which deals with the officialdom in ancient Egypt and its corporate self-identity.
