Abstract

This White Paper explains why information protection to meet today's and tomorrow's requirements needs to use stronger, more flexible protection mechanisms around the data itself. It reviews the issues surrounding data protection today, describes properties that data protection mechanisms should include to meet current and future requirements, considers why current technologies don't deliver what is required, and proposes a set of steps for migrating to a data protection future that we expect will meet future needs, and strategies for achieving the stronger more flexible protection solutions we need.
