Abstract:
New Zealand is one of the 194 Member States to adopt the World Health Organization (WHO) strategy to eliminate viral hepatitis as a major public health threat by 2030. In addition, elimination of viral hepatitis is an integral part of the global movement to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. As stated by the WHO, we are at a turning point. If governments take action to achieve a set of prevention, testing, and treatment targets, we can make the global elimination of viral hepatitis by 2030 our next greatest achievement.
