Abstract
The Otago University 150 Gala Concert included the Vaughan Williams "Serenade to Music'. The work pays tribute in part to Professor Sir Peter Platt, the second Blair Professor of Music at the University of Otago (1957–1975), who was Head of Music during my undergraduate degree. Sheffield born, he was appointed to the University of Sydney before Otago, and returned there as Professor after his esteemed time in Dunedin. In 1999 he was invested with the Order of Australia. He had studied composition at the Royal College of Music in London, and on occasion studied with Vaughan Williams. Repertoire: Adams, Fanfare; Drummond, Songs; Vivaldi, Four Seasons; Ritchie, Owheo; Lilburn, Canzona; Capping Sextet
