Abstract
Daily sea surface temperature measurements have been taken at Goat Island, adjacent the Leigh Marine Laboratory, since 1967. Manual temperature measurements were taken daily at 9am until 2011, but have since been taken by means of an electronic data logger located 1m below the service at coordinates: 36 16.010 S; 174 48.070 E.
This data set is the infilled 9am daily temperatures analysed by Shears, Bowen and Thoral "Long-term warming and record-breaking marine heatwaves in the Hauraki Gulf, northern New Zealand" submitted to New Zealand Journal of Marine and Freshwater Research.
