Abstract

El ensayo trata de sentar las bases bibliográficas para elaborar una arqueología de la relación de la obra de Manuel Vázquez Montalbán con Latinoamérica. Por un lado, intenta recoger e inventariar la abundante y dispersa obra montalbaniana sobre temas relacionados con Latinoamérica, diseminada a lo largo de numerosos libros de ensayo, novelas, poemas, artículos y columnas periodísticas, amén de prólogos de libros y entrevistas. Un repaso a los libros publicados por Vázquez Montalbán con foco específicamente latinoamericano, ya sean ensayos, novelas, entrevistas u obras de nuevo periodismo, nos indica con claridad ciertas áreas de atención primordial en sus reflexiones sobre Latinoamérica. Igualmente, la revisión de los artículos y columnas periodísticas de Vázquez Montalbán sobre Latinoamérica constituye toda una arqueología que demuestra igualmente la atención especial por los aspectos políticos que han conformado la historia de Latinoamérica en los últimos cincuenta años. Por otro lado, se trata también de crear un archivo de referencias críticas acerca de la obra de Vázquez Montalbán con acentos latinoamericanos, para que ambas conjuntamente sirvan de base sobre la que poder ir articulando las piezas de una siempre creciente bibliografía para estudiosos y lectores de la obra de Vázquez Montalbán a ambos lados del Atlántico. On the one hand, it attempts to collect and inventory the abundant and scattered Montalbanian work on Latin American-related topics, scattered throughout numerous essay books, novels, poems, journalistic articles and columns, as well as book forewords and interviews. A review of the books published by Vázquez Montalbán with a specifically Latin American focus, be they essays, novels, interviews or works of new journalism, clearly indicates certain areas of primary attention in his reflections on Latin America. Equally, The review of the articles and journalistic columns of Vázquez Montalbán on Latin America constitutes an entire archeology that also demonstrates the special attention to the political aspects that have shaped the history of Latin America in the last fifty years. On the other hand, it is also about creating an archive of critical references about the work of Vázquez Montalbán with Latin American accents, so that both together serve as a basis on which to be able to articulate the pieces of an ever-growing bibliography for scholars and readers of the work of Vázquez Montalbán on both sides of the Atlantic.
